Your holy words...

Statistics show that six out of ten Christians read their Bibles on occasion. Only thirty seven percent read their Bibles weekly and sixteen percent read it daily.

Only sixteen percent!

These are shocking statistics if you keep in mind the vital importance of God’s Word in a Christian’s life!
It is God breathed.
It is alive and active.
Has authority.
Provides guidance.
Is the lamp that lights up the road ahead.
Our Sword.
It is the living Word of God that upholds all things!

As a Christian writer you have a huge responsibility to lead readers to the Word by your words.

How do you do that? By making sure you use Scripture correctly in your writing. Your interpretations of Bible verses should be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and your statements should be backed by the Word of God.

Do not make a statement if you cannot back it with Scripture. Don’t interpret a Bible verse if you are not a hundred percent sure that you understand it correctly.

You need to spend time with God and make use of reputable guides to study the Bible. It might be a good idea to join a Bible School or do an online Bible course. Enrich yourself with knowledge but most importantly, ask the Holy Spirit to open up the correct meaning of Scriptures to you (Eph. 1:17-18, 1Cor. 2:10, 12-13).

Remember, your writing should be your ministry. It is the tool God gave you to use. Make sure you use it correctly and to the honor of his Name.

2 Tim. 2:15 says: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

Do your best. You are serving a great Master.

Happy writing!
Madeleine
